ROBERT IDOL

A nationally acclaimed designer, Robert Idol's work is often described as "Classic and sophisticated with an element of surprise." His warm and inviting interiors are emphasized by light open spaces with attention to detail and a unique ability to create relaxed cluttered rooms. This is accomplished by being a master at mixing materials, textures and styles complimenting the architecture of the space.

Prior to launching his own design firm he honed his skills working for prestigious companies such as Drexel Heritage in Dexel, North Carolina, and later as Design Director at Bryant Forney Associates in San Francisco. Idol has developed strong working relationships with a variety of companies including Currey Lighting, Kravet Fabrics, and Lane Home Furnishings where he developed the Robert Idol Collection.

Idol's work has been recognized by numerous publicatios on both coasts. From the beginning of his career Idol was recognized as a standout. Northern California Home named him "Most Up and Coming Designer" in 1987, as did Northern California’s "Designer on Parade" in 1988. Designer Magazine highlighted an early Idol design - a showroom created for the Filipino government who was at the time marketing the Country’s cottage-industry products.

Idol’s work has also been featured several times in Better Homes and Gardens and Atlanta Homes and Lifestyle, which in February 2007 named him as one of the “top people that define Atlanta Style.”

Idol’s line of ceramic accessories for Austin focuses on Classically inspired shapes in fresh updated color palettes for today’s increasingly eclectic design sensibility. The vases and bowls are designed to stand alone or be grouped together for a more collected look.
